How It All Started

In 2009, during the midst of one of the hardest economic periods in Detroit, a small group of like-minded individuals came up with the idea of bringing a new form of fundraising to metro-Detroit. The idea combined enjoying awesome local music with giving back to the community, and Rockin’ 4 Hunger was born.

Rockin’ 4 Hunger is a 501c3 organization, hosting events that bring the community together through a passion for charity and love of music. All the musicians featured at our concerts are local, and we give the food and funds we raise to charities serving metro-Detroit only.

We have previously partnered with Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners, and other local organizations.  We appreciate their tireless commitment to meeting the community’s needs, providing not only nutritious food, but essential life necessities. We strive to empower them with everything they need to fullfill their mission.

“I love the possibilities that lay ahead as we travel this path with the help of our team, dedicated volunteers, donors, musicians, and you! Come enjoy the journey with us!” – Michele Jones, President of Rockin’ 4 Hunger
